Utility Billing Dates, Due Dates and Payment Options

The City of Camden currently bills for utility services on the 4th and the 20th of the month. Utility bills date the 4th of the month are due and payable without penalty by the 20th of the month. Utility bills dated the 20th of the month are due and payable without penalty by the 4th of the month. A 5% penalty is charged for all amounts not paid by their due date. Any balance not paid by 5:00 p.m. the day before the cut off date is subject to a $20.00 service charge in addition to disconnection of service.

8. How long does it take to have services connected? 
        If application for service is made prior to 2:00 p.m. for residential service then connection can usually be made the same day. Any requests for service after 2:00 p.m. is done the next working day. Commercial service requires 3-5 business days to connect.

9. How do I apply for commercial service? 
        Application must be made at City Hall. Requirements for identification are the same as residential accounts. Commercial accounts are also required to complete an electric load profile questionnaire and a water survey questionnaire.

10. Is a deposit required on commercial accounts? 
        Yes. Deposit amounts will vary depending upon prior billing history of location. Contact customer service for the deposit amount.

11. What methods of payments do you accept? 
        Cash, check, debit/credit card or money order. There is a 2.5% convenience fee for all debit or credit card transactions.

12. Do you have online bill pay? 
        Yes. You can review, print and pay your utility bill online at: www.cityofcamden.org. We accept checks and debit/credit cards online. The 2.5% convenience fee for debit/credit cards also applies to online payments.
