Sanitation & Recycling

Consistent service, fair prices.

The sanitation department is responsible for the commercial and residential removal of solid and recyclable materials and yard debris. Every residence inside the city limits which receives a utility bill from the city is required to have and pay for residential garbage services, unless they receive an exemption to be approved by the City Manager.

Each residence is issued a 95-gallon roll cart and one 18-gallon recycling bin. We pick up the garbage and recycling once a week at the curbside, but people with physical handicaps or hardships are eligible to receive backdoor service.

Holiday Collection Schedule

The City of Camden does not collect garbage or recyclables at the curb on the following holidays:  July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.  If one of these holidays falls on your regularly scheduled pick up day, the alternative collection day will be Wednesday of that week.  For example, if Christmas falls on a Thursday, residents who have curbside pick on Thursday will be picked up on Wednesday instead.  For any questions, please call Public Works at 803-425-6045.
